Hiraizumi
Hiraizumi is one of the interesting city in Iwate.
Hiraizumi used to be the the biggest city in the north Japan once flourished in the 12th century.
There are still many heritages which "Fujiwara load (last 3 generations)" had created.
First you should go "Chusonji temple" - in the beautiful nature, Golden altar (The Konjikido in JPN) decorated with gold leaf and inlaid mother-of-pearl remains.
*Golden alter are now protected by casing house
Fujihira load's 3 mummies are still stored.
But not only the golden alter, the way from the Chusonji entrance to the gold alter is really beautiful.
It's called "Tsukimi-zaka", which means "moon-watching slope".
In the old time, when monk walked to the temple at night, they walked looking up, watching moon between the long trees to find their way.
Also "Takkokuno-Iwaya" is unique architect you should see. (pic.below)
Very old hall are built closely to the cliff.
Actually it's really awesome.
