A special cherry blossom "Ishiwari-zakura"

There is a very unique cherry blossom tree in Morioka, Iwate.


It is called "Ishiwari-Zakura(石割桜）", about 360 years old single cherry blossom grows from a large crack in a huge rock.
(Size:The rock = about 21M in diameter, Tree=about 1.35m in diameter)

A long time ago, a big stone was split when it was struck by powerful lightning.
After a while, cherry blossom's seed entered into the crack and started to grow...


You will be amazed when you see of its magnificent figure.

It is like telling you "Never give up, keep on moving".

Feel the biggest power of it, full bloom is coming soon.
