Morioka cold noodle "Morioka Re-i-men"

Morioka is capital of IWATE prefecture.

When you come Morioka, Try 3 kind of noodle.

1, Morioka Re-i-men (Morioka cold noodle)

2, Wanko Soba (small one-cup buckwheat noodle)

3, Ja-ja-men (udon noodle with minced cucumber, leek and special miso)


Now, "Morioka Remen" is one of my MOST favorite food in my life.

It's based on the cold noodles that originally came from in Korean Peninsula.

Compare to Korian's, Morioka Remen is thicker and whiter, and broth is much more tasty.


Usually Morioka Remen is served at Yaki-niku (Japanese style BBQ) restaurant.

My recommended restaurant for your first try, "Pyon-Pyon-sha" Or "Syokudo-en".

"Shokudo-en" is the first restaurant created Morioka Remen in 1954, (single restaurant)
"Pyon-Pyon-Sha" is most popular restaurant in Morioka now(Chain restaurant).


It's oil free so very healthy but taste really good.

Please try at least one time until you die!
